Great friend time this week.

Doxy, the SMK reference is to a book I mentioned a few posts back called When the Heart Waits.

Cynthia, so nice to have you here. Your last paragraph is just beautiful.Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11641264346663533706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8644066357702894216.post-12940904175199929172007-07-28T07:02:00.000-04:002007-07-28T07:02:00.000-04:00Yet I long for this next stage of life to be God-d...Yet I long for this next stage of life to be God-driven, God-shaped, God-fragranced.

LJ---this is so beautiful!! It resonates so deeply with me.

Can you tell me about the Sue Monk Kidd reference? I've read a couple of her books, but I don't remember the passage you mention. I have lots of people I am friendly with and some people who are my confessors, of sorts - listeners. But that deep sense of connection is tough to form as an adult - I wasn't taht great at it as a child, come to think of it. Too much water under the bridge sometimes, I think. Life teaches us stuff, and sometimes, it isn't good stuff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8644066357702894216.post-87127771358748493512007-07-25T13:57:00.000-04:002007-07-25T13:57:00.000-04:00Enjoy your time with your friend. And it is harder to make new friends now, at least in the deep way it was then.

Prayers for your "sweet surrender" to God's grace and timing. And for your friend's visit.Diane M.
