The Weird Book Tag

From PJ.

Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. (No cheating!)
Find Page 123.
Find the first 5 sentences and read them.
Post the next 3 sentences.

Here goes, from Anita Shreve's The Weight of Water:

"Yes. I searched her feet right off and they were stiff. I carried her over to my house."

How's that? Play along if you like.

Oh, you picked a good one! Unfortunately for me, the books closest to hand were the ones I had to read for Nonfiction last semester. I love James Agee (sort of), but sheesh...

Thanks for playing. :)

I think this was the best yet!

Or maybe both this and Agee.

PJ, you could use them when you become a Famous Writing Teacher and want to give examples of contrasting sentence constructions.
